So recently I was afforded the amazing opportunity to do a paid photoshoot for a company called Untied on Woodward, based out of Birmingham, Michigan. They exclusively work in menswear, and stock a wide array of brands and styles that fit any modern man’s wardrobe.

It had come about from a text that a close friend had sent earlier that morning while I was taking a French test. He explained that, since he was busy that day and unable to make it out to the modeling shoot, he had thought that I would be interested in the opportunity. I said that I was, and soon enough I was in close contact with the owner of Untied on Woodward, rescheduling my dentist appointment and was on my way to downtown Grand Rapids to meet him.

Here’s my favorite of the pictures that came out of that photoshoot, with the links attached so you can go explore the garments (and the multiple other options that they offer)!

This shirt is designed, cut and sewn in New York City, by a wonderful little shop called Kurt River. Their standard is patterns and cuts that are designed to impress, and in the current fashions, these shirts check all the boxes. I haven’t owned a shirt of theirs yet, but after this photoshoot, I’ll be checking their website first when the need arises.

One of my favorite pieces that I was asked to model in this shoot is this pair of jeans from Raleigh Denim Workshop. They’re absolutely incredible.

As a climber, something I value in a pair of jeans is the ability to hold up to abuse and still be comfortable. This pair fulfill both of those requirements with extra room and stretch to spare. With a normal pair of jeans, there’s a significant break in period where the denim gets used to being worn and stretched. With these, there’s none of that. They feel effortless on the first try, and I can’t wait to add more to my denim collection.

This sweater is a wonderful combination of cotton and nylon, and the resulting combination is quite possibly the perfect autumn addition to a man’s wardrobe. It puts me in mind of Ransom Drysdale’s sweater in Knives Out (one of my favorite movies in recent years).

Of all the tops that I tried on, this one is easily the most versatile. It’s a bit out of my price range at the moment, but I can’t wait to get it in my closet and wear it out to bars (at least, when they can finally safely reopen).

There were some other photos, and I’ll include those at the end, but these were my favorites! Let me know if you make it out to Untied on Woodward and I hope you enjoy yourself! I can’t wait to see what else they get in the store, and when I actually travel out there I’ll come back with new bags of goodies to style and work with.
